By day, I study math. By evening, I’m fascinated by homesteading: simple, sustainable, handmade, plenty of time in nature.

I live in Nova Scotia. Like our premier, I play the fiddle; unlike him, I am a beginner.

My name’s Natasha, not sarai, but I’ve been going by sarai for so long it is hard to stop. I don’t capitalize it because I like that all of the letters are the same height.

I enjoy knitting and crochet. I eat local food, but not strictly. I want to learn Gaelic. I have a five-year plan, but it doesn’t specify what I’ll be doing for work. This is both scary and awesomely freeing.

From Bar Harbor, in Maine, a few years ago, I almost took the ferry to Nova Scotia. Then, with my ex girlfriend we decided not to and from Boston, for awhile, we continued to go back to Bar Harbor.
Years later, I live halfaway between Rome, Italy and New York. Maybe, life is better away from the city.
As the upstair neighbour said, keep writing and I’ll definitely keep reading, there’s something quite enchanting about that place I never saw, if not imagined just now, by reading a random blog of some kind of math genius living in Nova Scotia… definitely more random than numbers

Hi. I’m kinda new to this blog thing so I apologize if this isn’t where I’m supposed post…but I just had to comment.
Being bored tonight I was sifting through Acadia stuff to get some inside thoughts on the strike and somewhere along the way I saw your Cape Split pics and since I was just there today I stopped to check things out.
Anyway…getting to the point, I just have to say I love the way you think. Your writing is fantastic and I found it amazing how exciting and lovely everything is through your eyes. It was very refreshing for me to read after a stressful day of work.
Now I’m going to turn the manly switch back on so as not to ruin a fine reputation ;p

    Hi,

I saw your blog and thought you might like to know about http://halifax.infomonkey.net, a new website I’ve started about Halifax.

The site organizes blog posts by category so local bloggers are easy to find. So you can put a post about a restaurant, for example, into out restaurant section and when a user clicks to read it your blog page opens in a new window.

We also list every event going on in metro and news headlines that link to national, local and world news.

I hope you will take a look.
